DCSO Media Release 9/21 at 11:30 am

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team is in the process of completing an extensive search of the area where Mark Bosworth was reportedly last seen. This team consists of volunteers and DCSO staff members. This team was assisted yesterday by approximately 80 volunteers from Cycle Oregon. It is expected that the ground search for Mr. Bosworth will be concluded today. Additional ground searches may be conducted as further information becomes available.

The search efforts have failed to produce any information as to the whereabouts of Mark Bosworth. While there is no indication of foul play, the Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated to assist the search efforts for Mr. Bosworth. The team has been used to follow up on tips and leads associated with this search effort.

Investigators have received additional information regarding Bosworth's health and it appears that Mr. Bosworth could be suffering from a diminished mental capacity.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office tip line at 541-957-2099.

  1. My heart goes out to the family and friends who are desperate to find Mr. Bosworth. I have been praying for his safe return. Over the past two nights I have had something "odd" happen each time I focused on his picture. I am afraid to tell anyone, for fear that they will think I'm crazy? (I'm not) Does anyone out there believe in "spiritual visions"?
